Re-Purposed

Re-purposing is the best!  It is Eco-Friendly, great on your wallet, creative, unique, one-of-a-kind and definitely lots of fun!  You can customize used items for things you need around your home.  Plus, re-purposed items make for great conversation pieces and you can feel proud that you helped the environment and got crafty with something new, useful and unique in your home.

I love the painted crates which you can use for just about anything, especially storage.  The re-purposed tin cans are so cute and if you find you only have plain silver cans, try painting them or gluing your favorite patterned paper to the outside and yours will be extra unique!  Have fun finding new ways to use your old “junk” or someone else’s junk :)

With the holiday season in full bloom, I thought I’d share some of my favorite eco-friendly gift wrap finds :)  I love the idea of reusing something for something else that is just going to be thrown away anyway… why waste so much when you can create something even more beautiful and help the planet! If you are on a tight budget, I love the Trader Joe’s bag wrapping idea and you could even use some old handkerchiefs or old tee-shirts cut up to make the fabric wrap.  You could also forgo wrapping all together and use a basket like the special gift in the second picture.  You can find used fabric, baskets and so much more at your local thrift store and Goodwill.  Happy wrapping!! :)
